Infinite Possibilities – The Art of Living Your Dreams
A review of the New York Times Bestseller by Mike Dooley
Mike Dooley, the author of Infinite Possibilities, is a featured teacher in The Secret book and DVD. According to his bio, he recorded Infinite Possibilities first as an audio program. It was released in 2001 and has remained a best-seller since that time. He sends out “Notes from the Universe” by email 5 days a week to over 350,000 people in 189 countries and he runs the TUTS Adventurers’ Club on the web.
I couldn’t tell you how many books I have read about living our purpose and manifesting our dreams and living to full potential; from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich to The Secret and many more in between. Many of the ideas presented in this book are not new. The idea that “thoughts are things” was introduced to me many years ago, although I haven’t been disciplined in applying the principles or watching what I think. I’ve often doubted the entire idea at times.
It’s been a process for me to realize my resistance has stemmed from either misunderstanding the principles or, more often, not wanting to take responsibility for my own part in my affairs. It’s seemed convenient at times to blame others, God, the Universe, genetics or just plain bad luck. While grasping a hold of these ideas can be empowering, it can also be scary. To take responsibility for our lives, even our own thoughts, is not always easy.
As Mike points out in his book, there have been countless teachers over the ions with the same message in different words with different ways of presenting the ideas. Somewhere, someday each of us will hear exactly what we need to hear, when we need to hear it in a way that “fits” for us. That makes sense when you think about it. Although we are all connected, one in spirit, our human experience is unique. No human being in the universe in all time has ever had the exact same experiences as another, from the time of conception to the time we return to spirit. Seen that way, what we perceive–hear, see, touch, etc. is filtered through that particular unique perspective. I’m glad Mike is presenting it here in his words. [Read More...]
